North Cascades National Park

Visiting this park was not included in the first plan we made. But we had extra days, so we decided to go. This park is located almost at the border of US and Canada and consists of 3 places, North Cascade National park, Ross Lake national recreation area and Lake Chelan national recreation area. We arrived there quite late at night and stayed in Ross lake area on the first day just for sleeping in the campground. On the 2nd day, Pierre suggested to go for backcountry camping !! This time , the plan was as follows. Crossing cascade pass (5392ft), going down to the other side of the mountain , taking the shuttle to the Stehekin area and staying in the campground there. But we left the trail head a little late so we decided to camp at Cottonwood. Pierre said it was only a few miles away .... let's see what we did.

Guess what ? A big beef jerky !
No wonder... it's Fri evening in Seattle !
The sunset is getting close...
We arrived here quite late
Pierre took the tent apart while I was still sleeping!!!
At the trail head
going to cross the pass in that mountain
Chihiro was a bit lazy on that morning...
"But we are going !!" said Pierre
we can catch the shuttle if we are lucky...
"8.9mile !? didn't you say 3 or 4 mile ?? "said Chihiro
The cascade pass is getting close...
We are almost there!
At the cascade pass
Now we go down to the other side of the mountain...
Still a long way to cottonwood
"It's getting fun even though it's long" said Chihiro
The water from glaciers...
A little adventure here !
We have to cross this suspended bridge
At cottonwood. we stay here.
Apparently, Chihiro isn't an early riser...
We are going back to cascade pass again.
The switchbacks we are going to climb
unexpected stream on the trail....
we have to cross it to continue the trail.
A big fat marmot !
Feels so nice !
This time, Chihiro is fixing the car ceiling
It was a very nice hike!
