Vision-based Human-Machine Interfaces

WARNING: Under SEVERE construction...

I am working in the area of Human-Machine Interfaces. Specifically, I am researching methods of interacting with computers using the human body and nothing else. No mice, no gloves, no magnetic sensors, no special suits. Just you, your computer, and a camera.

So far we have concentrated on estimating the motion of the human arm. An example application for this work is to use the arm as a 3-D mouse. Since the system has worked quite well, we have implemented it in real-time. One of our next steps will be to estimate the motion of more of the body.

We have a simple testbed game which allows us to test how well our system works.
