Biography

 

I was born in Beijing, China. Then I spent the first sixteen years of my life in Chengdu, a beautiful city in Sichuan province.
After that, my parents and I immigrated to America. I attended Princeton University, New Jersey for college.
In 1999 to 2000, I spent a year in Tibet doing Tibetan medicine research.
I received the Ph.D. degree from California Institute of Technology in Feb 2005. My area of research is visual recognition.
I will become an assistant professor in the Electrical and Computer Engineering department at UIUC in the summer of 2005.
