I would like to join to that award Silvio Savarese who collaborated with me on this project. Silvio successfully implemented the real-time version of the shadow scanning technique. There is no doubt in my mind that this project would not have reached its level of success now without his talent in turning it into a real-time prototype in a record time. Silvio is not only an extremely talented person who pursues his goals with passion to the very end, but he is also a great friend I had (and still have) an immense pleasure to work with.
